After a few days with Jeremy back in St. Louis, I'm back in Evansville for one last week. Mom had to head back to work, so now its just me with the new family. But while mom was still here, we managed to get out and find THE dress. It was great to have both my mom and sister there with me (and Riley too, of course!) to shop for my wedding dress. I felt amazing in it!

So far we have set the date and place (June 27, 2009 in Edwardsville). We have someone to marry us, and I have my dress. I'd like to think that's a good start for eleven months out, but I'm sure the details will start piling. Even though I'm sure it will be stressful at times, I AM SO EXCITED!

Another great morning for a hike!

After a quiet day around home for the fourth (we walked around town and watched fireworks but not much else), we decided to head out for another hike today. This time we walked up what was once part of a toll road between Silverton and Ouray. We poked around another mine or two, took in the great scenery, and then continued our hike up an old mining railroad bed.

This is a "one of a kind engine turntable" which, in the late 1800s, allowed one man to manually turn an entire train engine 180 degrees with only one hand! Quite amazing!

Ghosttowns, Tailings, and Hail! Oh My!

Today Jer and I went for two short hikes up in Ironton, which is south towards Red Mountain. It was beautiful! We poked around a bunch of old mining buildings in a ghosttown and scrambled up some tailings. It was great fun, even though it started hailing towards the end. We got some great shots and are hoping to do some more soon! Enjoy!
