A Wonderful Weekend

This weekend Jeremy and I drove back up to Denver to meet mom and dad. They flew in on Saturday in the early afternoon. I picked them up and we checked in at their beautiful historic hotel. Then we walked up and down the 16th Street Mall in Denver and watched Pirates of the Carribean 3. On Sunday we hiked/drove through Rocky Mountain National Park, which was beautiful as expected. And on Monday, we took Jeremy to his first Cardinal game with the Hasty's. Although the Cards did not play all that well, it was awsome to be back in a MLB stadium cheering them on.

By the way...the two bedroom apartment Jeremy and I were supposed to get fell through, so now we're back to our original plan. Although it's a little tight in my apartment with all of our stuff, we'll be saving money on rent!

Shooting

So Jeremy joined a gun club in Ouray, and we went out last weekend. I've never shot a gun before and I wouldn't say it's the most enjoyable thing I've ever done, but I thought I'd share some pictures. I found the rifle the easiest to aim and hit the target. Out of seven rounds, I hit the target five times! The pistol was much louder and had much more kick. The one and only time I fired it, I got this awful pit in my stomach and refused to try again.

We spent this past weekend helping out with Jeremy's sister's wedding... a most interesting event. I did get to meet all of his extended family though. Very nice, down to earth people.

So school is almost over...only a few more weeks full of fieldtrips and other fun stuff. I'm definitely excited to get some travel time to see everyone, but I'm going to miss these kids! They've been making amazing progress and maturing at an amazing rate. Even though I'll have theh same class next year, I'm afraid I won't even recognize them after three months off!

The weather here has finally turned to spring, although there is still a chance for snow tonight. I've been getting in lots of hiking and fresh air. I'm feeling great, but when the weather forces me in doors for exercise, it is harder than ever to get in more than 30 minutes of cardio. I just get so bored when I'm not out in the beautiful scenery.

It's been a little stressful since Jeremy moved in last weekend. Afterall... we both have a ton of stuff, and I only have two tiny closets. But then last night we were offerred one of the district's two bedroom apartments, so now we're set! Double the closet space and kitchen space, an extra bedroom, and an extra bathroom! While I won't be saving as much money as I thought, I won't be spending any more in rent, so I'm happy. I decided my sanity may quite possibly be worth more than the extra money in savings.

Weather Conditions in Telluride, CO...BRRRRRR

After several days of 60s and sun, the 12-18 inches of snow that's being predicted is a bit depressing...
