Skiing with Lottie

Lottie came down to visit this past weekend. We had a good time skiing. She's the one on the right in video (with the red and white jacket).





On Sunday we went into Ouray to hit the hot springs. While there we also observed some very brave people climbing the ice walls. Apparently Ouray is one of the best places in the world for ice climbing.

We're Buying a Home!

Jeremy and I are under contract to purchase a townhome in nearby Ouray, CO. It's HUGE compared to this place we're staying in now...3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 1 car garage, large laundry room, etc....

Although the commute will be lengthy, we'll be doing it together, and we're soooooo excited about the new place. Lots of room for people to visit!

Today I went down my first black diamond run ever! We did Upper Plunge and Bushwacker.

Winterfest 2008

Snowmobiles flying through the air, skiers twisting and flipping off of ramps, fireworks, and a torchlite parade... we were almost able to forget it was only 10 degrees outside!

An Awsome Day

I squeezed in two hours of work before Jeremy got up to face the day. Then we went up skiing... it was pretty amazing. I know everyone else likes the powder, but today was perfect conditions for me (good snow, but recently groomed so I didn't have to wade through 2.5+ feet of fresh snow). Then we went into Montrose with Rex to pick up some groceries and such before heading to the hot springs to relax. Lovely!

SNOW DAY!

For the first time in nearly a decade Telluride Public Schools has called a snow day! Should I try to get the work that I failed to finish over break done or play??? Hmmmmmmm...

"Epic Snow Conditions"

"Epic Snow Conditions" ... according to the Telluride Ski Resort Website, which is reporting 24" of snow since Saturday morning. We're supposed to get another 1-2 feet by tomorrow evening, so I will be literally shoveling out my car in the morning once again. As for the skiing, yes it must have been great for those skiers who are good enough to somehow ski on top of the powder. I am NOT one of those people. I made it about 2.5 hours today before succumbed to my depressed state at not being able to ski. It is just about impossible for me to turn when I'm sunk in the snow up to my thighs!

We're back to school tomorrow and in for a long haul, with spring break exactly three months away (April 7th I believe). We'll get one short break for President's Day weekend, but that's it.
